Elsie Doris Dahlstrom
November 2, 1932 ~ May 25, 2014

Elsie (Sieg) Dahlstrom, age 81, passed away May 25, 2014, in the loving presence of her family. Preceded in death by husband, John and brother, Ernest. Survived by her children, William (Rosanne Rybak) Dahlstrom, Sandra Dahlstrom, Catherine (James) Neuenfeldt, Heidi Dahlstrom, and Thomas (Michelle Filkins) Dahlstrom; grandchildren, David and Samantha Dahlstrom, William and Elizabeth Neuenfeldt, Maxwell and Alexander (Filkins) Dahlstrom; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie grew up in Madelia and Truman, MN. She graduated with great pride from the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in 1954 and enjoyed this career for many years as she and John raised their family together. She was an avid traveler, but most enjoyed spending time with her family and being a doting grandmother. Elsie was a long-time resident of Bloomington and a member of Transfiguration Lutheran Church.
She proudly co-led the TLC Quilters Group for many years, and through that group created hundreds of quilts for Lutheran World Relief and local organizations.

I will miss Elsie very much. She was a great friend through the years and a confidant. I will never forget her. She was a very special woman and a gift to us all.

Elsie was a good friend. You could talk to her about anything. She was always upbeat and positive with a good sense of humor. In 1981 when my husband was in the hospital she brought dinner over for our family. When I was recuperating from open heart surgery she brought me candy and her good cheer. She always thought of others.
