Doris A. Johnson, Aka Muffy, age 94, passed away February 27, 2018 surrounded by family. Although she had been in failing health these last few years., she never lost her humor and spark for life. Her often quoted saying was “You can’t keep a good Norwegian down!” Doris is preceded in death by husband, Robert (Bob). She is survived by daughters, Becky (Arthur) and Kim (Randy); and son, Stephan (Anne); seven grandchildren: Amanda, Molly (Nick), Sarah (Matthew), Kathryn, Mitchell, Jessica (Bobby), and Jacob; and 5 great-grandchildren. Doris was born in Lily, South Dakota on October 24, 1923 to Norvald and Clara Kverness. She attended Lily High School and always said she finished in the top 8 of her class, adding that there were 8 students in the one room classroom. She always could remember the fight song of the Lily High School, belting it out, only one week before her death. Doris moved to the big city of Minneapolis during WWII to work and help the war efforts where she met husband, Bob, after he returned from the war. She was a loving mother and wonderful grandmother, believed in fairness and hard work, and the belief that you could be anything you wanted if you applied yourself and worked hard. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
